The Yucatán Peninsula boasts the largest concentration of Mayan ruins in the Americas. There is much more to this region of Mexico though, from the beautiful sand beaches of the Caribbean coast, to the cool highlands with their markets and Indigenous culture. You will have options to explore further into the Lacandón jungle of lowland Chiapas to an area of unparalleled natural beauty and cultural tradition.
